Laura at Domovita

Laura leads Domovita's guides and editorial content - the selling, letting and compliance guides you'll see her name on across the site.

How our guides are written

Property guidance is the kind of content where a wrong date or threshold causes real harm, so every Domovita guide follows the same editorial rules:

  • Primary sources only. Every legal, financial or regulatory specific is grounded in an official source - gov.uk, legislation.gov.uk, HMRC, the deposit protection schemes - and linked inline so you can check it yourself.
  • Hedge, don't guess. Where a figure or rule moves often, we point you at the current official guidance rather than asserting a number that may go stale.
  • Fact-checked before publication. Every guide gets a second, adversarial pass where each claim must trace to a source or be reworded - and that pass regularly catches and fixes real errors before you see them.
  • Dated and re-reviewed. Each guide carries a visible "Last reviewed" date, and we update content as the law changes - the Renters' Rights Act, the DMCC Act and MEES have all forced rewrites, and you should expect more.

What we will not do

Our guides are general information, not legal or financial advice, and they say so. We don't dress opinion up as law, we don't quote figures we can't source, and where a decision genuinely needs a professional - a solicitor, a conveyancer, an accountant - the guide tells you to get one.
