Price Paid Data also leaves out sales never lodged for registration and transfers not for value - right-to-buy discounts, gifts, divorce transfers and compulsory purchases. - Typical sold price (median)
- The middle recorded sale price - half of recorded sales were below this and half above. Less swayed by one-off extreme sales than the mean, which is why the headline, the stats bar and the trend chart lead with it. The headline "typical sold price" is the median over the stated recent window (12, 24 or 36 months - shown next to the figure), not all years. A year, window or filtered set needs at least 3 recorded sales before we state a median for it.
- Total sales
- A straight count of the standard sales recorded in Sidcup, with the dates of the first and most recent.
- Lowest / highest sale
- The single lowest and highest individual sale prices recorded in Sidcup in any year - two transactions, not a typical range.
- Trend (% change)
- We compare the median sold price in Sidcup's earliest year with at least 10 recorded sales against its most recent complete such year - a median-on-median comparison, so a handful of extreme sales cannot move it. - Price bands over time
- Each column splits one year's standard sales across fixed price bands chosen from Sidcup's own all-time distribution, so sales migrating up through unchanged bands is the story the chart shows. Years with fewer than 10 sales are gaps; the current year is flagged year to date.
- Comparison with England and Wales

- Average monthly private rents from the ONS Price Index of Private Rents for the local authority covering Sidcup.
