Less swayed by one-off extreme sales than the mean, which is why the headline, the stats bar and the trend chart lead with it. The headline "typical sold price" is the median over the stated recent window (12, 24 or 36 months - shown next to the figure), not all years. A year, window or filtered set needs at least 3 recorded sales before we state a median for it.
- Total sales
- A straight count of the standard sales recorded in Newton-le-willows, with the dates of the first and most recent.

- Price bands over time
- Each column splits one year's standard sales across fixed price bands chosen from Newton-le-willows's own all-time distribution, so sales migrating up through unchanged bands is the story the chart shows. Years with fewer than 10 sales are gaps; the current year is flagged year to date.
